The 40 Day Soul Fast: Your Journey to Authentic Living
I have decided to embark on “the 40 day soul fast” by Dr. Cindy Trimm; I have completed my first week. I am excited to have begun this process because I believe that our souls can become so contaminated with “stuff”. The purpose of this particular soul fast is about becoming your authentic self and discovering the you that God created you to be. According to Webster, authentic is “real, genuine”.
I am sure that I’ve share this before but being authentic is something the Lord spoke to be about 2 yrs ago driving home from work one day. Since that time there are moments when God shows things about me that I did not know. You may be thinking what does this have to do with the soul. Our soul is made of our will, mind and emotions and this is usually where the “stuff” comes into play. The traumas, losses, schedules, knowledge we take in can all be areas that hold us back. For instance if you have a childhood trauma, one may still be living as a victim and therefore on some level you let it define part of who you have become. Be willing to let go and let awareness of self, commitment and truth guide your soul. God want to show us who we really were born to be, fasting the soul can bring us closer to him, to that goal and our destiny.
What this soul fast is doing for me is giving moments of reflection and quiet time with God. I believe we are willing to examine our souls and allow God to heal the hurt places and reveal unto us areas which hold us captive and keep us from moving forward. There comes a point when we need to dump the mask get real with ourselves because God already knows the truth. If we were honest with ourselves we would realize that others don’t believe the hype. Maybe you need to push yourself to the next level in God. Join me on this journey to becoming all that God has for us.
So Sisters, we will prepare to take a two month study journey of the life of the soul and encourage other sisters to participate.

No child care, so ladies please leave your children at home. This session is for you and you do not need distractions. Refreshments will be served after session.
The mission of R.E.L.E.A.S.E., INC. is a ministry which allows women to receive inner healing from oppression, depression, abuse and rejection. The women will rediscover their authenticity in a nurturing environment such as monthly gatherings, seminars, workshops, conferences, media and blogs. A Lesson to our Daughter
We need to teach our daughters
to distinguish between:
A man who spends money on
her and a man who invests in hers;
A man who views her as property
and a man who views her property;
A man who lusts after her and a
man who loves her;
A man who believers he is a gift to women and
a man who believes she is a gift to him;
And, then we need to teach our sons
to be that kind of man.
Forgiveness
Have you ever notice that when God is trying to convey something to His people that you will hear multiple ministers speak from the same subject? Well there is a lot being said about forgiveness these days and I believe because it is the key to inner healing and wholeness in God. Yet in still it is a struggle for many of us to forgive those who wrong us. We often like living in a place of offense because we somehow feel empowered by those feelings when in fact we are powerless. Think about it we waste a lot of energy and thought on people or persons who have moved on in life and some are not even aware that they have offended you.
My husband has been teaching on this subject as well. He titled it, who offended you and stop you from your miracle? The truth unforgiveness has blocked us from receiving from God and stops us from moving forward in our destinies. If we are to be followers of Jesus did he not set the example? As He was being the sacrifice for my sins and yours He said in Luke 23:34 “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” This He asked of the Father for those who had beaten Him and nailed Him to a cross. I know that some of you have been abused physically, emotionally and spiritually. Seek to forgive those who have wronged you. Colossians 3:13 admonishes us to “Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Lastly, forgive yourself don‘t allow guilt or shame paralyze you experiencing all God has for you. Some guilt and shame that we carry is often false, because we have blamed ourselves for what happen to us and it was not our fault. For those of us who know Christ as our savior it Romans 8:1 says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For those of you who do not know Christ but want to know and His forgiveness read this passage and accept Christ today that you may know the ultimate power of forgiveness. Romans 10:9-10 states 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Warfare
There seems to be anurgency in the Body of Christ these about people wanting to understand spiritual warfare. I think that maybe it because of the condition of America right now but that is a subject for another day. I have been searching a way to give a friend understanding of spiritual warfare in a way that makes sense. Yesterday while at a ministry leadership conference I heard something, we should all ponder on, this person said, “Warfare is occupational”. In other words he said that you don’t enter warfare to win but to occupy. The truth is the devil is already defeated. You goal is to occupy the promise of God and stand as victor.
When you find yourself saying , I have prayed, declared, decreed, rebuked and renounced everything and you get up off of your knees or stop walking the floor and you don’t see change don’t be dismayed. You are victorious and you have already won. What is God’s promise in this battle go to His word and find out you can start with Romans 8:37 which declares us more than a conqueror. If you look the Old Testament you will notice that when there was a battle the winner then occupied the territory. So let me end with this since you have already won the battle, occupy.

Peace Be Still
What is stilling your peace? You know during this soul fast that (I am in my fourth week by the way) there was section where peace of was the characteristic. It made me think about what disturbs my peace. I have the tendency at night when I lay down to rehash the whole day over in my mind as if I can change anything that happened at that point. I did discover, however that there were some common themes.
What is disturbing your peace is it a child, spouse, your job and for those who are willing to admit it, let’s face it ministry can disturb your peace because ministry people and sometimes we worry about those that God has placed in our care. Some of us are trying to carry others burdens and they are happy to let you do it. I found a lot of the things that disturb me are usually the things I have not given over to God because somehow I think I can change it by thinking on it all the time. How crazy does that sound? Now some of us have heard I Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on him because he caresfor you.”(NIV) Often times we do not apply this to our life the way we should.
Psalm 55:22 says “Cast your careson the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.”(NIV) If we let him have all those issues or concerns like me that run through your mind at night it says he will not let us be shaken or disturb. Let’s be like Jesus when he rebuked the wind and waves and said, “Peace be still” and everything ceased and there was a great calm.
I want you to think about whatever consumes your thoughts and you may have to rebuke some thinks but command it all to be still so that your peace (sense of calmness) will be restored. More than likely while we thinking on it God has been trying to give us the answer and we can’t hear it. I know about you but I am looking to be free in every area of my life and that means care-free. Until next time get your peace back.
Be release from your personal wilderness
If you are experiencing your own personal wilderness like the children of Israel, you have become discourage. In my devotional time, I read a story that Satan had a business and he was selling hatred, envy, jealousy, deceit and discouragement. When Satan was asked why he sold discouragement at a higher price, Satan replied, “because it is more useful to me than any of the others.”
Don’t be discourage look up to Jesus who redeemed you, healed you, and set the captives free. Be encouraged that where you are now is just a preparation for where you are going.
Mediate on this: Psalm 91: 1-4 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save youfrom the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

Broken Bones or Broken Hearts
When my husband speaks of his childhood as a boy, he talks about all his broken bones and injuries that came from the “crazy things” that he did along with his brother. His parents would take them to the doctor or hospital to get them patched up and they would eventually heal. To this day the scars maybe visible but the pain no longer exists.
I have never had a broken bone but a broken heart is something I know all too well. When I was a girl my father said words to me that not only broke my heart but for a time they contributed to who I had become. I was someone who struggled with needing to be the best and needing the approval of others. I was bitter at times, longing for my father’s love. One day had the opportunity to meet a Savior name Jesus, it wasn’t overnight but the more I allowed His love for me inside. He began to erase the negative words and replace them with words of affirmation with His love and His word. Because of God’s love I am no longer seeking the approval of others; I am just seeking my father, God daily. I am now know exactly who I am and I am encouraged daily to be authentically who He created me to be. He healed my broken heart. Psalm 147 says, “Heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds.”
God is no respect of persons so whether, you have some broken bones or a broken heart God wants to heal you. He is the master physician who gave the gift to the one who resets the bone or stitches the wound but only He has the power to mend the heart which is broken and wounded. My prayer for you is that you would allow Him to bring the inner healing to your heart and live the life He created for you. Now here is the challenge, try Him, trust Him and I promise you can’t lose because in Him we win!
