Have you ever notice that when God is trying to convey something to His people that you will hear multiple ministers speak from the same subject? Well there is a lot being said about forgiveness these days and I believe because it is the key to inner healing and wholeness in God. Yet in still it is a struggle for many of us to forgive those who wrong us. We often like living in a place of offense because we somehow feel empowered by those feelings when in fact we are powerless. Think about it we waste a lot of energy and thought on people or persons who have moved on in life and some are not even aware that they have offended you.
My husband has been teaching on this subject as well. He titled it, who offended you and stop you from your miracle? The truth unforgiveness has blocked us from receiving from God and stops us from moving forward in our destinies. If we are to be followers of Jesus did he not set the example? As He was being the sacrifice for my sins and yours He said in Luke 23:34 “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” This He asked of the Father for those who had beaten Him and nailed Him to a cross. I know that some of you have been abused physically, emotionally and spiritually. Seek to forgive those who have wronged you. Colossians 3:13 admonishes us to “Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Lastly, forgive yourself don‘t allow guilt or shame paralyze you experiencing all God has for you. Some guilt and shame that we carry is often false, because we have blamed ourselves for what happen to us and it was not our fault. For those of us who know Christ as our savior it Romans 8:1 says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For those of you who do not know Christ but want to know and His forgiveness read this passage and accept Christ today that you may know the ultimate power of forgiveness. Romans 10:9-10 states 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
If you are experiencing your own personal wilderness like the children of Israel, you have become discourage. In my devotional time, I read a story that Satan had a business and he was selling hatred, envy, jealousy, deceit and discouragement. When Satan was asked why he sold discouragement at a higher price, Satan replied, “because it is more useful to me than any of the others.”
Don’t be discourage look up to Jesus who redeemed you, healed you, and set the captives free. Be encouraged that where you are now is just a preparation for where you are going.
Mediate on this: Psalm 91: 1-4 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save youfrom the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
When my husband speaks of his childhood as a boy, he talks about all his broken bones and injuries that came from the “crazy things” that he did along with his brother. His parents would take them to the doctor or hospital to get them patched up and they would eventually heal. To this day the scars maybe visible but the pain no longer exists.
I have never had a broken bone but a broken heart is something I know all too well. When I was a girl my father said words to me that not only broke my heart but for a time they contributed to who I had become. I was someone who struggled with needing to be the best and needing the approval of others. I was bitter at times, longing for my father’s love. One day had the opportunity to meet a Savior name Jesus, it wasn’t overnight but the more I allowed His love for me inside. He began to erase the negative words and replace them with words of affirmation with His love and His word. Because of God’s love I am no longer seeking the approval of others; I am just seeking my father, God daily. I am now know exactly who I am and I am encouraged daily to be authentically who He created me to be. He healed my broken heart. Psalm 147 says, “Heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds.”
God is no respect of persons so whether, you have some broken bones or a broken heart God wants to heal you. He is the master physician who gave the gift to the one who resets the bone or stitches the wound but only He has the power to mend the heart which is broken and wounded. My prayer for you is that you would allow Him to bring the inner healing to your heart and live the life He created for you. Now here is the challenge, try Him, trust Him and I promise you can’t lose because in Him we win!
Ladies, I want to pose a question to you, who are the voices in your life? When we think of a hissing sound we associate it with the sound that a snake makes and most people view snakes with a negative feeling. So my sisters, consider this thought was not Eve deceived by a snake. Eve allowed the snake to talk her out what she knew to be true. Some of us have allowed people to speak in our ears such negative and condescending words that we start to believe what we know is not true.Let’s look at the relationships in our lives there are some people who we enjoy being around, they are encouraging, uplifting, good listeners and funny. Then there are those who are always putting us down, never have a positive word to say and we are miserable just being around them. Which person would you like to be around the most? Unfortunately, some of the negative people are those who are very close to us a spouse, a parent, a sibling or someone who you may have considered a friend. Some of you who are married maybe that person is a spouse and some you feel like prisoner in your own home. There are some who have a parent that you have been trying your whole life to please and no matter what you do it will never be good enough. God never wants us to become a slave to someone else and I say slave, because a slave is not free. Submission does not mean door mat. You should never let anyone wipe their feet on you. God says that I am head and not the tail, above and not beneath so I am no one’s mat for their feet.We are gifted and anointed to do something of great impact in this world, so we must be careful who we allow in our ears. Just because someone is talking doesn’t mean you have to listen, especially if it is not adding, but subtracting from your life. I heard my pastor say this week that Martin Luther King once said, “it is not what someone calls you, it is what you answer to”. My hope is that you will answer to the call of God. He calls you a conqueror. You are victorious and you are created in his image. You are a queen, Esther waiting to be released. Let me hear from you.In Every Women there is an Queen (Esther)Rosalindwww.berelease.com
I would like to talk about developing your dream team, a team of people who can surround with prayer, advice and mentorship. I would like to discuss how to develop your God given gifts and talents. Some of you may be well aware of some of your gifts and talents and some may be thinking well I don’t have any specific gift or talents. I believe we all have them. You know as we are growing in childhood sometimes our parents notice certain things about us and that help us to cultivate those areas. Some of you may have been told by parents or others growing up that they don’t see anything that you can do. Please know that they were not telling the truth because they couldn’t recognize their on gifts, talents or abilities, they did not have the ability to recognize what was inside of you.
While I was at my conference last week, I heard an inspirational story from the NC Teacher of the Year in her opening session keynote address. I want tell the whole story but what was so significant about her story was that a teacher made her feel bad about herself because of her socio-economic status. When the principal decided that the class that she was in was a little over crowded, she was one of the children picked to go to a newly formed class. This teacher saw potential in her and her ability to write and she encouraged her. This teacher moved away and when she became NC teacher of the year she began to look for this teacher to thank her for what she did for her. She had a chance to thank her on the Good Morning America, it was a beautiful reunion. It made me think of people who have encouraged me, saw potential and helped pull it out of me.
God knew all along what he called me to do and I look back now on the people who God use to prepare me for things to come. I don’t think I would have begun to recognize a lot about myself, if I didn’t first accept him in my life and then set out to know all I could about Him. Some of your gifts and talents may be singing, dancing, hospitality, writing, listening, etc. I could name so many more that apply to many of you. It is so important that you are in church where the word going forth helps pull your potential out of you. Hopefully, there is someone on your dream team who is mentor and can help you recognize them. Lastly, it is important that you use them. It is just like faith; you have to use your faith in order to increase in faith.
I know that have not given you scripture from the word of God and there are plenty examples in God’s word of gifts and talents of individuals being displayed. I want you to begin to think about all those things that you are good at doing. Most of us know what they are and it is not arrogance to acknowledge, this is gift, talent, ability or skill. Pray ask for the opportunity to us what he has given you and you will be surprised of what comes out of you. Be Blessed my Sisters.
Sometimes, it is difficult for people to recognize their potential because some of us think and feel we limited potential. What I mean by that is that as we grow from childhood to adulthood, we recognize things that we are good at but still never reach our full potential. I have brought up countless times in these discussions, how we give others so much control over our lives by how they treat us and what they say to us that it causes us to hold back. The Army slogan is “Be all You Can Be”. Those of us who have children are always encouraging them to be the best they can be and we tell them they can become anything they want to be. We are just trying to keep them encourage because we believe in them. God believes in you. He created you and He knows exactly what you can do.
Esther as you can guess by now is one of my favorite women in the bible because she had no clue the greatness that was inside her and I think I can identify with her. When she discovered the decree to kill her people and her uncle said you must go to the King, Esther was like are you kidding no one goes to the King without invitation. Despite her fear she had the Jews begin to pray and she went before the King. I believe at this moment she began to recognize the potential in side herself to save her people. She took the risk and found favor with the King. Unlike Esther aren’t you glad you have a Father (king) who you can go to without fear or rejection and make your request known unto Him. Some of you God have been trying to get you to recognize your potential and when he opens a door He says take the risk because I already know the outcome.
The 12 months that Esther was in the purification process, she was also getting to know her God in a very personal and real way. Some of you are afraid of the process because you will have to deal with you have become but the beauty is that you then become who you were to be. Once God unlocks the queen in you, your gifts, talents and callings will become so clear. Your spirit will receive passion for whatever you are called to do for Him. Everyone is not called to be an apostle, prophet, teacher, pastor or an evangelist but you were created with specific gifts and talents for the Kingdom. I want to challenge you in the next week to spend some quiet time with God (try not to let your mind wonder) and pour out your fears, hopes and dreams and let Him minister to you. We all need God’s healing power to mend broken hearts, dreams and promises and other issues that keep us from moving forward. In order for some of us to reach our full potential we need to become whole and wholeness breeds’ success. I want every women to be all that they can be so let’s encourage ourselves and pray for God strength.
