Have you ever notice that when God is trying to convey something to His people that you will hear multiple ministers speak from the same subject? Well there is a lot being said about forgiveness these days and I believe because it is the key to inner healing and wholeness in God. Yet in still it is a struggle for many of us to forgive those who wrong us. We often like living in a place of offense because we somehow feel empowered by those feelings when in fact we are powerless. Think about it we waste a lot of energy and thought on people or persons who have moved on in life and some are not even aware that they have offended you.
My husband has been teaching on this subject as well. He titled it, who offended you and stop you from your miracle? The truth unforgiveness has blocked us from receiving from God and stops us from moving forward in our destinies. If we are to be followers of Jesus did he not set the example? As He was being the sacrifice for my sins and yours He said in Luke 23:34 “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” This He asked of the Father for those who had beaten Him and nailed Him to a cross. I know that some of you have been abused physically, emotionally and spiritually. Seek to forgive those who have wronged you. Colossians 3:13 admonishes us to “Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Lastly, forgive yourself don‘t allow guilt or shame paralyze you experiencing all God has for you. Some guilt and shame that we carry is often false, because we have blamed ourselves for what happen to us and it was not our fault. For those of us who know Christ as our savior it Romans 8:1 says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For those of you who do not know Christ but want to know and His forgiveness read this passage and accept Christ today that you may know the ultimate power of forgiveness. Romans 10:9-10 states 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
There seems to be anurgency in the Body of Christ these about people wanting to understand spiritual warfare. I think that maybe it because of the condition of America right now but that is a subject for another day. I have been searching a way to give a friend understanding of spiritual warfare in a way that makes sense. Yesterday while at a ministry leadership conference I heard something, we should all ponder on, this person said, “Warfare is occupational”. In other words he said that you don’t enter warfare to win but to occupy. The truth is the devil is already defeated. You goal is to occupy the promise of God and stand as victor.
When you find yourself saying , I have prayed, declared, decreed, rebuked and renounced everything and you get up off of your knees or stop walking the floor and you don’t see change don’t be dismayed. You are victorious and you have already won. What is God’s promise in this battle go to His word and find out you can start with Romans 8:37 which declares us more than a conqueror. If you look the Old Testament you will notice that when there was a battle the winner then occupied the territory. So let me end with this since you have already won the battle, occupy.
What is stilling your peace? You know during this soul fast that (I am in my fourth week by the way) there was section where peace of was the characteristic. It made me think about what disturbs my peace. I have the tendency at night when I lay down to rehash the whole day over in my mind as if I can change anything that happened at that point. I did discover, however that there were some common themes.
What is disturbing your peace is it a child, spouse, your job and for those who are willing to admit it, let’s face it ministry can disturb your peace because ministry people and sometimes we worry about those that God has placed in our care. Some of us are trying to carry others burdens and they are happy to let you do it. I found a lot of the things that disturb me are usually the things I have not given over to God because somehow I think I can change it by thinking on it all the time. How crazy does that sound? Now some of us have heard I Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on him because he caresfor you.”(NIV) Often times we do not apply this to our life the way we should.
Psalm 55:22 says “Cast your careson the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.”(NIV) If we let him have all those issues or concerns like me that run through your mind at night it says he will not let us be shaken or disturb. Let’s be like Jesus when he rebuked the wind and waves and said, “Peace be still” and everything ceased and there was a great calm.
I want you to think about whatever consumes your thoughts and you may have to rebuke some thinks but command it all to be still so that your peace (sense of calmness) will be restored. More than likely while we thinking on it God has been trying to give us the answer and we can’t hear it. I know about you but I am looking to be free in every area of my life and that means care-free. Until next time get your peace back.
I love my mornings this is my quiet time before the family gets up and starts stirring. I spend time with God and get a good cup of hot coffee. I may listen to music or just spend time in deep reflection. This is just one of those mornings where I am reflecting on this past year as we approach a new year.
I have truly been blessed and I am not saying there have not been trials but I am focusing on how good God has been to me. This morning I am thinking particular about the women who God has brought into my life. Some of them were there as encouragers and teachers and for others I was their encourager and teacher but no matter what the relationship I have gotten just as much as I have given. Some of these women are survivors, spiritually mature or babes in the Lord. Whatever, there situations they are uniquely created by God and their destinies await them.
I have no idea what your past year has been like but I want to encourage you that you are “fearfully and wonderfully made and God knows your end from the beginning. He is always on your side and He will never leave or forsake you. I would also encourage you to embrace the encouragers and teachers that God sends you in this New Year some will only be there for a season but are part of your journe
My wish for you in the New Year and that you will find peace in our God and joy in everyday. Embrace your journey with all the bumps on the way because it is all for your good and you will be come all that He has created you to be , a woman authentic in her God.
Ladies, I want to pose a question to you, who are the voices in your life? When we think of a hissing sound we associate it with the sound that a snake makes and most people view snakes with a negative feeling. So my sisters, consider this thought was not Eve deceived by a snake. Eve allowed the snake to talk her out what she knew to be true. Some of us have allowed people to speak in our ears such negative and condescending words that we start to believe what we know is not true.Let’s look at the relationships in our lives there are some people who we enjoy being around, they are encouraging, uplifting, good listeners and funny. Then there are those who are always putting us down, never have a positive word to say and we are miserable just being around them. Which person would you like to be around the most? Unfortunately, some of the negative people are those who are very close to us a spouse, a parent, a sibling or someone who you may have considered a friend. Some of you who are married maybe that person is a spouse and some you feel like prisoner in your own home. There are some who have a parent that you have been trying your whole life to please and no matter what you do it will never be good enough. God never wants us to become a slave to someone else and I say slave, because a slave is not free. Submission does not mean door mat. You should never let anyone wipe their feet on you. God says that I am head and not the tail, above and not beneath so I am no one’s mat for their feet.We are gifted and anointed to do something of great impact in this world, so we must be careful who we allow in our ears. Just because someone is talking doesn’t mean you have to listen, especially if it is not adding, but subtracting from your life. I heard my pastor say this week that Martin Luther King once said, “it is not what someone calls you, it is what you answer to”. My hope is that you will answer to the call of God. He calls you a conqueror. You are victorious and you are created in his image. You are a queen, Esther waiting to be released. Let me hear from you.In Every Women there is an Queen (Esther)Rosalindwww.berelease.com
Sometimes, it is difficult for people to recognize their potential because some of us think and feel we limited potential. What I mean by that is that as we grow from childhood to adulthood, we recognize things that we are good at but still never reach our full potential. I have brought up countless times in these discussions, how we give others so much control over our lives by how they treat us and what they say to us that it causes us to hold back. The Army slogan is “Be all You Can Be”. Those of us who have children are always encouraging them to be the best they can be and we tell them they can become anything they want to be. We are just trying to keep them encourage because we believe in them. God believes in you. He created you and He knows exactly what you can do.
Esther as you can guess by now is one of my favorite women in the bible because she had no clue the greatness that was inside her and I think I can identify with her. When she discovered the decree to kill her people and her uncle said you must go to the King, Esther was like are you kidding no one goes to the King without invitation. Despite her fear she had the Jews begin to pray and she went before the King. I believe at this moment she began to recognize the potential in side herself to save her people. She took the risk and found favor with the King. Unlike Esther aren’t you glad you have a Father (king) who you can go to without fear or rejection and make your request known unto Him. Some of you God have been trying to get you to recognize your potential and when he opens a door He says take the risk because I already know the outcome.
The 12 months that Esther was in the purification process, she was also getting to know her God in a very personal and real way. Some of you are afraid of the process because you will have to deal with you have become but the beauty is that you then become who you were to be. Once God unlocks the queen in you, your gifts, talents and callings will become so clear. Your spirit will receive passion for whatever you are called to do for Him. Everyone is not called to be an apostle, prophet, teacher, pastor or an evangelist but you were created with specific gifts and talents for the Kingdom. I want to challenge you in the next week to spend some quiet time with God (try not to let your mind wonder) and pour out your fears, hopes and dreams and let Him minister to you. We all need God’s healing power to mend broken hearts, dreams and promises and other issues that keep us from moving forward. In order for some of us to reach our full potential we need to become whole and wholeness breeds’ success. I want every women to be all that they can be so let’s encourage ourselves and pray for God strength.
Who is that you see when you look the mirror? As women we tend to focus on what we see as our imperfections which means we focus on the outward appearance. Look pass the physical and what comes to your mind as you are looking at yourself? How do you feel about yourself? In other words what do you feel that you are worth?
In the not so distant past, I spent one night in hotel alone compliments of my husband for my birthday. It was part of a 3 day sabbatical from my job. This was during a time when I was deeply seeking answers from God. I relaxed, prayed and praised God in that room seeking clarity about a ministry that was in my heart.
I enjoyed the peace and quiet. Treated myself to my favorite takeout. I woke the next morning continuing in prayer and praise before checking out. I spent the rest of the day window shopping with a deep disappointment that I did not have any answers.
When I got home on that Friday, I was regretting having to say to my husband that I have no more revelation than when I left. I was quite surprised on Saturday morning when Lord began speaking to me about the purpose of my sabbatical. It was not about ministry it was about me and he started revealing things to me about me. I have been on this discovery of self worth and allowing the Lord to reveal to me the true me for about five years.
Our self worth can be based on our past and present opinions of ourselves or others. I don’t know about you but, I have times when I am more concerned about the opinion of others and how they perceive me. I am a work in progress and it has taken my mid-forties to begin to become comfortable with who I am and who God created me to be. God is revealing things about myself that I have not been paying close attention too as well as strengthening me daily to accept myself. This is the key, self acceptance.
Accepting ones self is most important. Learning to enjoy our own company is necessary. Relying on others to validate you is not necessary. What God says about you is most important. My word of encouragement is learn to embrace your uniqueness and allow God to show exactly who you are which is so much more than others opinions and put downs. You are so worthy of all God has planned for you. Remember Esther became Queen and so are you.
